History and the stuff of fables show us that a powerful human failing is self-delusion: “and the band plays on.” Yet anyone who has gone through a galvanizing trauma in life knows that strength and momentum come from facing the blast furnace and moving through it. So we need strong new narratives about that - and not just from Hollywood or Bollywood.

What’s a “regulator”? They would seem to be the stuff of speculative fiction, not reality. The IPCC is not a regulator. There are no courts with the broad-based social power to enforce even the most minimal of environmental standards. Corporations own political systems worldwide.
